![]() Hamed Vaziri on your free consultation visit to find out if you are a good candidate for hidden braces. We are one of the few offices that offer them. If you have always wanted a beautiful smile and are not comfortable wearing regular braces or Invisalign for social reasons, hidden braces are a great option for you. These braces are smaller than regular braces and are nicely polished for the comfort of your tongue. They are pre-shaped and bent to guide your teeth to their final position. They still will find it hard to believe, but once you show them, their response will be nothing but WOW!įor the best adaptation and maximum invisibility, these braces are custom made for each one of your teeth. The only way your friends can know about your braces is when you tell them. While on your teeth, nobody will know or guess that you are wearing them. Hidden braces, also known as lingual braces, are placed behind your teeth. Hidden braces are a great choice for adults or teens that wish to minimize the appearance of metal braces. Hidden braces have been developed to make your treatment more discreet and aesthetic. This means that instead of using elastic bands (ligatures) to keep the archwire that moves your teeth attached to the metal brackets, Damon braces use a slide mechanismlike a small, spring-loaded doorto secure the wire. This way, braces work as handles to hold the wire and transfer the pressure from the wire to the teeth. Traditional braces typically cost from 2,500 to 7,500, so you can see that gold-plated braces tend to cost a bit more. These costs will depend on your dentist, where you live, and how long you need to have your braces on. Therefore instead of bonding the wire, we bond the braces directly to the teeth and leave them on for the course of your treatment. Gold braces can cost you from 6,000 to 8,000, give or take a couple of hundred dollars. As you might guess, even though it will work, it can become extremely difficult and time-consuming if we glue the archwires directly to your teeth. These wires are made of different materials, thicknesses, and different specifications.ĭepending on the stage of your treatment we might need to use different wire. It’s with the help of wire that we can apply consistent pressure to your teeth. If you are wearing braces, your orthodontist moves your teeth by the wire, not the braces themselves. Vaziri bond braces to your teeth for the life of your treatment or want you to wear your Invisalign trays at all times. Teeth will move once they receive light pressure over a period of time. But I’d always go with old reliable metal braces if that was a better option for my results. This is a process that requires constant pressure. I was lucky to not need any attachments which is why I jumped at the chance for Invisalign this round. If my treatment was going to extend beyond a year, I would have went with standard metal braces as they’re much less maintenance for the wearer. But even Invisalign isn’t truly that invisible by the time you get all the attachments for the trays to grip, elastic bands, hooks for elastics. ![]() The shifting was mild so my treatment is short this time and I was a good candidate. I’m not going to pretend it wasn’t for cosmetic reasons it 100% was based on my own vanity. I’m currently doing a 2nd round of orthodontic treatment over 10 years later as I didn’t commit to wearing that retainer nightly for life. ![]() The process of any orthodontic treatment isn’t very glamorous. And I figured if I’m getting braces that will be visible regardless, I might as well go with the budget friendlier option and achieve the exact same results. When I saw them on their teeth models, I could still see those braces from a mile away. We may use rubber bands for many different. My Damon Clear braces are what’s known as self-ligating. This will pull the upper jaw backward to correct an overbite, or the lower jaw back to correct an underbite. With my braces, I actually don’t have little rubber bands on each tooth holding the bracket on. And the appearance was the only reason I considered them. The biggest cause of a yellow look with clear braces isn’t the actual braces brackets themselves, but the rubbers and power chains. The ceramic ones aren’t discrete enough to justify the higher price tag in my opinion. Some (a lot) of orthos now use self-ligating brackets (if you google Damon braces that will give you an idea, but they arent the only type), and they have a little trap-door type construction which holds the wire in, so you dont need ligatures on top. Personally went with all metal for my first treatment. It sounds like youre talking about the coloured ligatures that hold the wire to the bracket in some types of braces.
